51.

I walk monochromatic hoping
to reflect the endless color in the world

52.

what war are we fighting today, wherefore we send
our children to die

53.

nothing lasts except memory
and even that
is aubject to rewrites

54.

you are a dream of an endless, eternal and flourishing garden

55.

a cyclone of last winter’s dead leaves
in the exterior alcove of downtown building –
the reassertion of an argument

56.

against the forces of erasure
we must all commit
to remembering (at least)
one thing

58.

one more bomb
one more river of blood
even still
one must live
so that beauty matters

47.

the sky opened up a little bit ago
and me here without my rain coat

48.

look and see! in the negative space
between drops of rain
the tendrils and ties
barely holding this all together

49.

this first kiss, this whisper of thick
oppressive air battering the lungs

we must settle in and seek comfort
we must find our solace

as unrelenting as a suffocation

50.

this city, like every other
is an erasure
