Gone Gone

Old Losantiville, gone gone
under a city of aluminum, steel
LED lights and fake boat whistles
piped through speakers:

leaving, I give myself leave
to remember my geography
my own way

map annotations now void

this gray city: all I have left
an outdated  memory map

there are no ghosts to greet me
ask where I’ve been
all the old trailmarkers erased
by wind and rain and time

my own ghost shriveled up and dead
somewhere on Main Street
and on the memory map a note:

here be dragons

Featured Poet @ The MOTR, Cincinnati, OH!

I am super stoked to be this month’s featured poet at the monthly WORD OF MOUTH at Cincinnati’s MOTR PUB, located at 1345 Main Street.

Here is a little about the storied monthly reading:

Word of Mouth was founded in 2014 by poets Mark Flanigan and Jim Palmarini, inspired by the late poet and co conspirator Aralee Strange. Word of Mouth asks poets of all persuasion to show up, mouth off, and listen.

I’ll have a few copies of 92 Tanka and God’s Tired Plumbers for sale there at slightly reduced prices. Payment accepted by Venmo only, please.

And if you’re not in the Queen City or can’t make it, you can still buy your copy of both: God’s Tired Plumbers (normally $10) AND 92 Tanka ($23.16 cover price) for $25.

Just Venmo or PayPal me @dirtysacred and use the notes section to tell me where to send them!
