Day 10, 2023

It pulls and drags. Currents. Ever since reading about the universe as a clockwork I am obsessed with the tick tock sound the world makes. River currents sweep like the second hand on my grandfather’s pocket watch. Sometimes I count the minutes between barges pushing in and out of the lock, between trains on the 14th Street Bridge. I do this so as not to be dragged under. This far out there are no buoys.
