full moon setting over the wharf
marked by the memory of rain
daylight sends word of impending arrival
a humming procession of commuter traffic

Day 7, 2024
clearish night, two overseeing stars
in the crisp air I-65 traffic serenades.
civilization is a singing drunk on a bicycle
bellowing into the dark: I am here
where are you
a treatise on unseen stars
all storm showers and dark and the threat of more / this the lonely hours / the early hours / if I still drank I’d stop off for a beer and a shot and welcome them / the lonely hours when the bar lights begin to dwindle as dying stars / on a night when faith alone holds the stars undying above / far from the reckoning rain
