Poems Oct 30 -31 2021

a Saturday

a circling fall rain above and we
lie in: it feels like a rare moment
lately on different schedules
moments of solace coffee and
shared bodily warmth finding
nothing outside the blankets
worthy of attention

save us dear lort we know
what we do but still the rain
it falls and the unjust
have bigger umbrellas and
our knowhow it just don’t stretch
as far as it was supposed these
days the water it seeps up from under
to drown us slow steady like
and really lort this whole life thing
is just one fucking insidious trap
after trap and all anyone has to say
is smile, you flesh monkey smile
’cause you’re on Candid Camera

a Saturday: requiem

this brain bone soaked through like tired sweaters old socks
and here too too late for strong coffee long past a stiff drink

this

one must

imagine thus roll
ng happy up
all dead kings
shit rot belch
like like
Dogman Bry
dry bye thus
one must imagine
him happy roll
ng up hill

a Sunday

aaahhh yas bold son bad knees locked
that socket rubs dry bone against

ad/notare3

since the rule = the nicer the car > deductible
let them run each other over drunk dejected
under sexed brakes failing from lack of use

Monday: an epilogue

mixed tape dreams deep roll / fly / bones that ache breach into wings

October Yardwork Tanka

This one isn’t in #92Tanka but I still really like the form. There’s a lot of room to dance in any form as long as you understand what the “rules” are really for.

By the way, don’t forget to order your copy of 92 TANKA now.

yardwork tanka

yes: October & th grass
it grows along w/ my hopes
th house’ll be lost
in honeysuckle dashed
as I ponder th damn mower
